Isochronic Tones
Isochronic tones are made by turning a sound on and off rapidly. Any steady sound can create an isochronic tone, although pure tones are most often used. In the Advanced section, we will explore using music as a carrier for entrainment and using different waveforms to generate the pitch. Isochronic beats do not require headphones and can be isolated to each brain hemisphere at various frequencies to correct imbalances. The stereo phase can be offset 180 degrees to create an Alternating beat, a technique known to produce harmonic brainwaves.
BWE is, for the most part, global, meaning it impacts all areas of the brain. Split hemisphere entrainment can entrain different frequencies to each side of the brain to correct imbalances. However, a stimulus going to one hemisphere will still affect the other hemisphere to a lesser degree.
